Pooyan Saadati is an Iran-born, UK-based performer, composer, and sound designer with a focus on sound design for movies and games. As a member of the sonADA team at the University of Aberdeen, he has made significant contributions to the creation of professional and innovative audio for games and films, With extensive expertise with audio middleware and digital audio workstations, including WWise, FMOD, Pro Tools, Reaper, and Ableton.
In 2022, Pooyan collaborated with the University of Hamburg as a music producer and sound designer for a fine arts movie project showcased at the Annual Exhibition. He is also actively involved in multimedia projects, creating cinematic sounds for games, 3D videos, and short movies.
His deep passion for the electronic music scene was sparked in 2018 at an underground party in Tehran. Seeking to break boundaries and express his love for performing, Pooyan moved to Istanbul, where he quickly started playing at various venues and events across Turkey. In 2023, he relocated to the UK to expand his music knowledge and study in sound design. Pooyan's sound features hypnotic techno and dark minimal bleeps atmosphere.
In 2024, he completed his master's degree in sonic arts from the University of Aberdeen. Dissertation focused on two parts: the first part involved Sound Design and Music Production for a 3D Animation Project in a Multichannel Sound System, creating immersive audio experiences tailored for multichannel playback; the second part was a Live Electronic Music Performance, developing and executing a dynamic live set using Ableton, Moog DFAM and Roland TR8.
